This Privacy Policy explains how Resume Optimizer (“we”, “us”) collects and uses information when you use the app.
What we collect
- Content you provide: the resume file you upload and the job description text you paste.
- Technical data: your IP address may be used to enforce rate limits and protect the service from abuse.
How we use your information
- Provide the service: parse your resume, analyze your job description, and generate tailored recommendations.
- Security and reliability: apply rate limiting and basic operational monitoring.
Third‑party processing (OpenAI)
To generate recommendations, the app sends the resume text and job description text to OpenAI’s API for processing.
OpenAI acts as a service provider for this purpose.
File handling and retention
- Uploaded files: the server saves your uploaded file temporarily to process it and then deletes it after processing (even if an error occurs).
- Generated output: the analysis is returned to your browser. We do not intentionally store your resume content as a user profile.
- Server logs: like most web services, basic logs may be created for debugging/operations. Avoid submitting sensitive personal data.
Tip: Do not upload documents containing highly sensitive data (e.g., government IDs, bank account numbers).
If you do, that content may be transmitted to OpenAI for processing as part of providing the service.
Your choices
- Don’t use the service if you don’t want your content processed by OpenAI.
- Minimize what you upload: redact sensitive information before uploading.
